Lima modification

Hallo zusammen,

Few days ago I have seen the Lima Re6/6 (Lima L288602) in grün/weiss on eBay with a good price.

My plan is to buy it and change some parts with Hag: the buffers, and the roof details.

Has anyone thought the same? Do you think this project is worth doing?

Übersetzung durch die Moderation:

Vor ein paar Tagen hat Cem eine Lima-Re 6/6 mit der oben angegebenen Katalognummer auf Ebay gesehen. Er überlegt sich, sie zu kaufen und ein paar Teile durch solche von HAG zu ersetzen (Puffer, Dachdetails). Hat das allenfalls schon jemand gemacht bzw. lohnt sich sowas?

depends. Lima has a really bad "older" version, which they changed to a better rendition sometime later.

You may also want to check out this page (four pages total, you can click the links in the upper or lower left of the page.

Hope that´ll help you decide. Imho, if it´s the "old" version, it wouldn´t be worth the effort.

I think this is the later version.

I have the Re4/4 II in the same livery (Mä 34345) and I thought that with Re6/6 they would make a nice coupe.

Cem, you might also consider replacing the windows with HAG parts. I'm currently doing that on a Rivarossi Re 4/4". Especially the machine room windows make a huge difference. On the Rivarossi model, this needed some minor filing, since the HAG windows are bigger than the Rivarossi ones.
But the model gains much from such a threat and if carefully executed, you don't need to repaint anything, because the small frame of the HAG windows covers the actual window cutout.

In the attached image, you see the case with the HAG windows in front of the model with the original windows (altough I painted the frames black, which also enhances the look of the horrid original windows).

Sorry for the quality. As usual when I need it, my camera is in my other place. So was only able to provide this quick cellphone shot.

Deutsche Zusammenfassung:
Das Modell könnte auch gewinnen, wenn man die Lima Fenster durch solche von HAG ersetzt. Ich tue dies gerade bei einer Rivarossi Re 4/4". Auf dem Bild zum Vergleich das Modell mit den HAG Fenstern im Vordergrund, dahinter eine Maschine mit den originalen Fenstern, an denen ich die Rahmen geschwärzt habe.

to be honest, I´d try and get an inexpensive Roco engine rather than the Lima one if I were you. They look far better than the Lima imho, and if you add the spare parts´ prices to the Lima, you´d probably have the amount necessary for a Roco one.

I agree with Thomas / Litra eg, but I'm not sure if you can get the same livery (the older green Cargo-version) from Roco. From HAG you can get it, but it is more expensiv.

Back to Lima: before buying a Lima-loco with cardan, you should ask the seller if the toothed wheels (Zahnräder) on the axles are o.k.; they are known for splitting, and if only one is splitted, the loco won't run.

Hallo Cem/Alle,

Roco hat auch solch einer Re 6/6 im ersten Cargo Anstricht unter die Nummern 63734/69734 gemacht.

Das Modell in WS kann sich bei Zuba-Tech guenstig gekauft werden.

Roco also made a model of the Re 6/6 in the first Cargo livery (63734/69734). This model can currently be found on special at Zuba-Tech for a very good price.

Deine Entscheidung, besser auf eine HAG-Lok in selber Farbe zu warten, halte ich für eine gute Idee. Oder bevorzugst Du doch eine Roco-Lok? :shock:

Cem, it was already issued a couple of years ago - model no. 244 (AC) or 245 (DC).

Die Cargo-Lackierung in Türkis wurde schon vor ein paar Jahren aufgelegt, Modell-Nr. 244/245.

11655 = Cossonay

Hallo zusammen

Es gibt auch keine Re 6/6 Luzern - aber die Stadt Cossonay hat das "gleiche" blau-weisse Wappen wie die Stadt Luzern. Mir kam das damals auf der SBB/Minirex Typenfoto der Lok neben dem Depot von Luzern schon komisch vor - das Rätsel hat sich dann später in Cossonay selbst gelöst, wo am Gemeindehaus ein prächtiges Wappen hängt - der eine Teil hat sogar eine waagrechte Struktur in der Farbfläche drin.

Die Loknummer ist 11655 und hat im Cargo Anstrich zuerst kein Wappen getragen - von Hag soll es beide geben.

Das ist richtig, in der UNUM Datenbank hatte ich nur die ohne Wappen angeklickt, darum ist mir das Luzerngleiche Wappen nicht aufgefallen.

Das ist nicht ungewöhnlich: in der Heraldik bedeutet eine waagrechte Struktur ganz einfach 'blau'

Nebenbei: Jeder Farbe ist eine Struktur zugeteil: so kann jedes Wappen in Schwarzweiss dargestellt werden und man weiss trotzdem welche Farbe die Fläche hat.

einige Beispiele:
keine Struktur = silber (weiss)
gepunktet: gold (gelb)
senkrecht/waagrecht schraffiert: schwarz
senkrecht schraffiert: rot
waagrecht schraffiert: blau
diagonal schraffiert: grün

Auch die Ae 6/6 Kantonswappen folgen dieser Struktur. So gefiel mir das Fribourger Wappen immer gut mit der karierten schwarzen Fläche.
