Hag could have reached out to other companies to offer the famous Hag motor in the same way that Herr Doll licensed the Flusterschleifer to Roco and many other brands
Just for example, would you not love to see a Liliput Domino, Flirt or Kiss or other with a reliable Hag motor?
When Liliput seemed to forget about the Stadler models, Hag could have stepped in and designed models of their trains, which are now worldwide in use.
For Swiss modellers, this would have offered the RABe 511, 512, the BLS Mutz and even the DB versions that run to Zuerich. This year, Liliput is back in the game (no Swiss model though) and Jaegerndorfer has announced the latest OBB version.
Hag has been risk averse and has tried to keep the business going making variants of existing models. As those models disappear in prototype, the opportunities for the company to make new variants will eventually fade away as well.
I wish them well and I treasure the models that I have. I hope that they do develop some new possibilities in the future.
They should reach out to some of the freelance designers making models for companies like LSM, ACME, etc and see if there is room for some new productions.
It doesn't have to be LSM to make new SBB EC or EWIV models. There are still places for the company to build a new niche, if they want to.
